Lineage

Chapter Lineage

Every brother in the Gamma Tetarton Chapter has a big brother, and a big brother before him, stretching back to 1950. This visualization maps those relationships across 75 years of initiations, tracing the lines of brotherhood from the founding generation to the active chapter today.

Each node is a brother. Lines connect bigs to littles. Brothers are placed vertically by initiation year, with older classes at the top. Color indicates line family. Hover over any node to see a brother’s name, initiation year, and line. Zoom and pan to explore.

About the Data

This visualization was built by Julian Casanova using data collected from chapter records and alumni submissions. It was generated in R using igraph and ggraph, with an interpolation algorithm that estimates initiation years for brothers whose records were incomplete based on their position in the big/little tree.

If your big brother is wrong, your initiation year is missing, or you know of a relationship that is not reflected here, send a correction to phisigalum@googlegroups.com and we will update the visualization.
