The Phi Sigma Kappa Alumni Association is a volunteer organization run by brothers for brothers. We are always looking for people willing to give their time, skills, or simply their presence to help the chapter and the alumni network thrive.
There Is a Role for Every Level of Availability
Some brothers can give a few hours a year. Some want deeper ongoing involvement. Both are valuable. The alumni association has roles that match either — and everything in between.
Light Touch
A few hours a year
Attend an annual meeting. Review a grant application. Show up to a regional event. Stay connected to the brotherhood without taking on a formal role.
Regional Coordinator
A few events per year
Organize one or two gatherings per year for brothers in your area. The alumni association provides the contact list, the templates, and the support. You provide the local knowledge and initiative.
Board Member
Ongoing, mostly remote
Take on a formal role in the governance and operations of the alumni association. Most board activity happens remotely, with a small number of in-person commitments per year depending on the role.
Open Board Roles
The current board has seven members. As terms end and the association’s work grows, new positions open up. If any of the following roles matches your background or interests, we would love to hear from you.
Grant Program Chair
Coordinates the Mt. Ida Micro Grant Program. Activity is concentrated February through April, when the calendar is set, applications are accepted, and grants are awarded. Ongoing light communication with grantees through the rest of the year. Roughly 15 hours per year, mostly remote, with two in-person events per grant season.
Scholarship Program Chair
Oversees the Istvan Moritz Memorial Scholarship and any other scholarship programs the association runs. Coordinates with the active chapter to identify candidates, manages the selection process, and ensures awards are distributed each year.
Communications
Handles broad alumni communications including the semi-annual newsletter, announcements, and keeping the alumni network informed of chapter news and association activities. Good role for a brother with writing or communications experience.
What Joining Looks Like
There is no formal application process. You reach out, we talk, and we find the right fit. The alumni association meets regularly by video call, with occasional in-person gatherings tied to chapter events. New members are welcomed at any point in the year.
If you are interested in a specific role, mention it. If you just want to be more involved and are not sure where you fit, mention that instead. Either way, the conversation starts the same way.
Get in Touch
Send an email to the alumni group and someone on the board will follow up with you directly.
